After graduating from Cornell Law School in 1995, David returned to his hometown, Kenai, Alaska where he clerked for Judge Jonathan H. Link, the chief judge of the Kenai Courts. Following his clerkship he worked as an associate for the Alaska office of the international law firm of Heller Ehrman White & McAulliffe. In 1998, he proposed to his future wife, DJ, who was then working as a tax associate for the Manhattan office of Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft. She accepted his proposal on the express condition that he agree to relocate to New York, so David left Alaska and accepted a position as Litigation Counsel with the Law Firm of Lowenstein Sandler, P.C., where he served as a commercial litigator, specializing in large scale commercial and construction litigation. After the birth of their daughter, Kendra, David and DJ decided that New York City was not where they wanted to raise their family, and so they relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia where David went to work with the Virginia Education Association. While at the VEA, David represented public educators regarding all aspects of their employment. In 2014, David joined Jones Oberg & Green, where he focuses his practice on advising and representing businesses and individuals with business law, employment law, construction law, civil litigation and personal injury. Having represented many large multi-national companies, David is now very happy to provide cost-efficient advice and representation to local Virginia businesses and non-profits, and is proud to help individuals and families navigate the complex legal system.

In 2015 David was elected to the Albemarle County School Board representing the White Hall Magisterial District. He also serves as the Chair of the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center. In his free time, David enjoys traveling with his family, teaching Tae Kwon Do, serving his Church community, and exercising at ACAC and the Crozet YMCA.
